How to Change the Favicon in Joomla 3

In this tutorial we will show you how to replace the Joomla Favicon.ico with one of your own icon. This can help people identify your brand logo, and also differentiates your website from other Joomla 3 websites.

Changing your Joomla 3 Favicon

Follow below instructions to change a favorites icon(favicon) displayed in the address bar of any browser in your Joomla website:

Step 1: To create a favicon, you can open www.favicon.cc website. Create your favicon with the dimensions 16x16 pixels, and make sure the file is named "favicon.ico".

Step 2:Now upload you created favicon icon to the following folder where your Joomla site is installed: /templates/your_template_folder_name. For example if you are using the acrostia Joomla template, your Favicon will be uploaded here: /templates/acrostia/favicon.ico

Note: Don't forget to refresh your web main page, then only you should be able to see your new updated Favicon on your website. or you may have to clear your browser cache or test it website in a different browser to see the new Favicon.
