How to Backup Joomla Site Using Akeeba Backup

Akeeba Backup is a Joomla component that allows you to create and manage complete backups of your Joomla website. Although the component has many functions, in this tutorial we will show you how to use it to create a single backup of your website and store it locally on your hard drive.

Download and Install Akeeba Backup

Download the akeeba backup component from its official site. Installing the latest version can be the best option for an updated Joomla setup.

Now login to your Joomla site’s administration panel. Go to "Extensions > Manage".

Open the Akeeba Backup package from your local computer, press "Upload & Install".

Create a Backup

To start creating a new backup, go to "Components > Akeeba Backup".
